    OpenNavo editorial Added to Homebrew

    CompatibilitymacOS 14 or later

Extends notch hiding to system menu bar backgrounds and the lock screen.

    • Covers macOS’s own menu bar background when Show menu bar background is enabled, or when Reduce transparency is used in Dark Mode. The overlay follows menu bar transitions and hides in full screen. Apple’s white text and icons remain visible; colored icons appear black except camera and microphone indicators. Light menu bars with dark text remain unchanged. This uses private interfaces and disables itself if they are unavailable.
    • Adds two lock-screen options: black behind system icons, or a display mode ending below the camera that restores on unlock. The black overlay uses private interfaces and disables itself if unavailable. The reduced display mode is scoped to Blackout and restores if the app quits. Neither option applies at boot login or FileVault unlock; Leave as is disables both.
    • Mission Control’s add-desktop button now appears on black instead of a round gap on notched displays.

    Patch

    OpenNavo editorial Added to Homebrew

Changes release signing and installation handling.

    • Adds Developer ID signing and Apple notarization, so Homebrew and ZIP installations open without a macOS warning.
    • The Homebrew cask no longer needs to clear the download’s quarantine flag.

  3. 1.1.0

    OpenNavo editorial Added to Homebrew

Keeps the notch hidden in Mission Control and App Exposé.

    • Adds a second black bar above the strips drawn by Mission Control and App Exposé on notched displays, with a gap for Mission Control’s + button.
    • Leaves Mission Control’s strip unchanged on displays without a notch so Space names remain visible.
    • This release is not notarized. The Homebrew cask clears the download flag; ZIP users must allow the app in System Settings > Privacy & Security.
