Autodesk Fusion is Engineering and CAD software for Mac.

About

Autodesk Fusion combines CAD, CAM, CAE, PCB design and product-data workflows for designers, engineers and manufacturing teams. It connects modeling with toolpath preparation, simulation, electronics and collaboration, with capabilities depending on the subscription and extensions.

Product-development workflows

Create mechanical designs, prepare drawings and machining workflows, connect electronic and mechanical design, and collaborate through Autodesk's cloud project data. Manufacturing and Design offerings add advanced capabilities to the base product. Check the license and extension for the specific simulation, machining or data-management feature you need; the presence of a workspace does not mean every operation is included.

Installer and hardware requirements

The catalog uses the mutable latest Fusion Client Downloader DMG, not a versioned full offline application installer. Its inspected exact size is 28,778,934 bytes. Run the official downloader and follow Autodesk's setup prompts, or use brew install --cask autodesk-fusion. The downloader retrieves additional application components, so its size is not the installed footprint.

Autodesk's July 2026 requirements list macOS 14 Sonoma minimum, an Intel 1.4 GHz dual-core Core i 5 or Apple M1, 4 GB RAM, Intel HD5000/M1 graphics, 1366×768 display and 8.5 GB installation storage. Recommended Mac resources include M1 Max or newer, 16 GB+ RAM, 15 GB+ storage and newer supported macOS releases. Large assemblies and CAM/simulation workloads need stronger hardware. OpenCore-patched unsupported Mac configurations are not supported. Windows has separate OS, GPU and dependency requirements. A mouse/trackpad and supported graphics drivers are needed for interactive work.

Account, connectivity and licensing

Fusion is proprietary subscription software and requires an Autodesk account. Cloud data, collaboration, downloads and licensing need connectivity; offline capabilities are limited by Autodesk's documented workflow and are not a guarantee of indefinite disconnected use. Paid plans, extensions and cloud services have their own entitlements. A30-day trial is offered. Eligible personal, home-based non-commercial users can obtain a limited free 3-year personal-use subscription, with annual revenue below$1,000 and restrictions against employment/company/commercial-training use. Personal use has reduced CAM, electronics, documentation and import/export functions. Check the current eligibility and commercial terms before adopting it for paid work.

Data access and manufacturing risks

Review cloud-project permissions before sharing designs and retain exports/backups of important work. Add-ins, scripts and imported data can affect projects or execute code; use trusted sources. File or peripheral permissions should match your workflow, rather than blanket access. Validate units, stock, fixtures, toolpaths, machine post-processors and simulations before manufacturing: CAD/CAM output can cause material damage or unsafe machine behavior when used without review. Check revisions and collaborators' changes before production.

The official image is a publisher electronics-workflow collage containing schematic/PCB UI examples; it is not an exact Mac application build. The catalog has only rolling latest, so three distinct version-specific release notes cannot be assigned to this downloader.

The icon is Autodesk’s official iOS-listed Fusion viewing/review product mark, representing the connected Fusion family; it is not an icon extracted from this Mac downloader or a claim that the mobile viewer includes desktop CAD/CAM editing. Autodesk explicitly describes mobile as viewing, reviewing and collaboration within the same Fusion platform. Source: Official Fusion mobile overview.

Install and uninstall

Install without Homebrew

Download the same file Homebrew uses: dl.appstreaming.autodesk.com/production/installers/Fusion%20Client%20Downloader.dmg

Uninstall command
$ brew uninstall --cask \      autodesk-fusion

A regular uninstall removes the app and keeps its settings and caches.

Deep clean (optional)
$ brew uninstall --zap --cask \      autodesk-fusion

--zap also deletes the settings, caches and other files listed in the Homebrew definition. They can include data shared with other apps and cannot be restored, and it does not guarantee that nothing is left.See which files are removed
