About

Atoll turns the MacBook notch into a compact control surface that expands when needed, with native SwiftUI animations. It brings together media playback, system information and everyday utilities rather than replacing the desktop with a separate dashboard.

Features

  • Media controls for Apple Music, Spotify, Cider and other players, with inline previews.
  • Live Activities for playback, Focus, screen recording, privacy indicators, beta download tracking and battery/charging.
  • Lock-screen widgets for media, timers, charging, Bluetooth devices and weather.
  • CPU, GPU, memory, network and disk usage information.
  • Timers, clipboard history, a color picker and calendar previews.
  • Layout, animation, hover and keyboard-shortcut customization, plus gesture controls.

Requirements and setup

The official README requires macOS 14 or later and a MacBook with a notch; it is optimized for macOS 15 and newer. Download the DMG, move Atoll to Applications, launch it and grant permissions required by the features you use, including Accessibility, Camera, Calendar, Screen Recording or Music. Hover near the notch to expand it and use Settings to configure layouts, shortcuts and widgets.

Atoll is open source under GPL-3.0. The official project is maintained under the Ebullioscopic GitHub account.
