About

ActivityWatch is a time-tracking application for reviewing how you spend time on your devices. This Homebrew cask installs the experimental ActivityWatch macOS app, rather than the standard or beta cask.

  • Tracks the active application and window title; additional tracking is available through watchers.
  • Organizes activity into categories to help summarize usage.
  • Chrome and Firefox extensions can track the active tab.
  • Editor watchers can track time spent writing code.
  • The project describes activity data as stored locally on the device.

Install with brew install --cask activitywatch@experimental. This cask requires macOS 12 or later. Launch ActivityWatch after installation to use the app. The experimental cask conflicts with the activitywatch and activitywatch@beta casks, so they cannot be installed alongside it.
