About

A Better Finder Attributes is a macOS utility for changing file attributes and photo or video information. The Homebrew cask installs the app variant for macOS 15 Sequoia or later.

With it, you can:

  • Adjust JPEG, RAW, and video capture dates, including by adding or subtracting a time interval, and synchronize file creation or modification dates with the capture date.
  • Edit or remove EXIF and IPTC tags, including GPS and location information, and work with video metadata.
  • Set file creation and modification dates using dates embedded in filenames or copied from matching originals in another folder hierarchy.
  • Change common Mac file flags, including Finder labels and extension visibility; show or delete invisible files.
  • Add files by drag and drop, inspect file content and metadata in a preview pane, and save settings as droplet apps for reuse.

Install with brew install --cask a-better-finder-attributes. The installed application is A Better Finder Attributes 7.app. The cask requires macOS 15 or later; the publisher also identifies the current release as compatible with Intel and Apple Silicon Macs. This is an application for changing file and media attributes, not a file-renaming app.
