## Uninstall

- `brew uninstall --cask codeburn-app`

A regular uninstall removes the app and keeps its settings and caches.

### Deep clean (optional)

- `brew uninstall --zap --cask codeburn-app`

`--zap` also deletes the settings, caches and other files listed in the Homebrew definition. They can include data shared with other apps and cannot be restored, and it does not guarantee that nothing is left. Back up any data you need first. To keep settings and caches, leave out `--zap`.

CodeBurn 0.9.27 was released on 2026-10-11. This update lets one click update the CLI, the menu bar app and the desktop app together.

**Added**
- `codeburn update` updates the CLI, the menu bar app and the desktop app in one go; `--check` lists what is out of date and `--json` returns a stable result for scripts.
- The desktop app downloads and restarts on its own, and the CLI and menu bar app follow after the restart.
- The menu bar update pill runs `codeburn update` and checks every 6 hours.
- The Windows tray updates the CLI through `codeburn update` for Store and installer installs.
- Download links always point at the latest release.

**Fixed**
- A menu bar download could crash the desktop app's update when the server closed the connection mid-download.
- Releases publish to npm first, so an update never points at a CLI version npm does not serve yet.
